how can i state the overall importance of this information without becoming trite or repetetive.remeaber we are all childs of god needing reminding

i have a pet gripe to all you cell phone users out there who are so prooud of all the multi tasking that they are noww able to do ...they stick there telephone behind their ear where you can hardly see it.....my wife was gone all day yesterday, went to provo, when she got home at eight she said where's dan, what have you done today and on the phone." becky are you their??????i said went to the best funneral of my life[ sister monsen's nine kids did an excellent job SPEAKING...SHE SAID"AT THE MALL, A STICKY NOTE PAD.......i said what????,' dan where is he???'i could tell she was talking to some one else and walked into the living room, my dinner that i fixed myself had been eaten...she said what funneral?????i said'MOTHERHOOD IS", she said wait a minute karen's talking........... i went and watched monday night football....multi tasking is rude, when you are PART OF THE THING THAT IS BEING multitasked.....i guess it is all right if you are not at all involved, BUT WHEN ONLY A SMALL PART OF THE ATTENTION is you, forget it and when you are chomped up as part of a multi task which looks like grossed out peanuts

doug stories

...FLICKER OF OBSCRUITY................................................he(doug) has invited me to dinner more often than his own son don olsen and at times i felt like don was envious of me being a favorite over him....well it is true...i attended more basketball and football games on his big screen t.v. than don did...i watched jazz games and b.y.u. football and basketball and some john wayne movies and after his cable hook up i was more of a regular than before annd it always came with a diet coke and butter pop corn....bonnie always had special treats for me....he would always fall asleep on me though in his easy chair...i would look over at him after a byu touch down and say, did you see the move of that tight end, and would get a loud snore out of him....it was always overheated in his basement from his new gas log and before his gas log with a roaring hot wood fire...my alarm would always go off with my wood fires but doug had his fire in hand

there is a place in denmark called the HAIG

NEW SECTION.......flicker of obscurity.....................................................................................................ALL the hardheaded danes came here to sanpete to farm and to obey brigham's young edict to come to the 'VALLEY' AND ESTABLISH THEm selfs and their traditions of their ancestors and the gospel kingdom after the order of the haig living....so that means they usually do things the hard way...very religious and of course interested in the grandfathers, fathers, sons, grandsons back generations and forward generations and all the females who marry into this are treated very special...they have been santa claus to all this clan and to their ordinations, baptisms, graduations, marriages, have tolerated traditions and wrapped all to their haig way of doing things....doug treated me to the greatest secret ever known to man.....the location of blue lake just south of wagon road....he swore me to secrecy that i tell no one where it is, but all my kids and their kids, and their spouses know where it is.....he also made me swear never to tell anyone where his secret christmas tree spot on the very top of skyline is...weell to be perfectcly honest, i have forgotten where that is...it is in a very weird out of the way place that takes great effort to get to and i am perfectly content to get a christmas tree at the side of an improved road

doug stories

and then there was the time we went to get wood...we went to fred flats this time over the swollen creek and to this remote place passing up all sorts of good timber....we cut it all with our chain saws...mine was working at the time...Started to load the wood, i would carefully load the cut logs into the back and Doug would say,"that is not the way you do it, Here let me show you how" and he heaved one with all his might and it hit the gaurd on the back window and bent it severly in and broke the back window going into the cab of his little truck{work truck}...when we had it loaded right to the top and put a rope around it to secure it, we then took off back to fred's flat....well you would think with a heavy load we would go slow, but not Doug...he drove like he always drove, like a bat out of hell.....well when we got to the swollen creek, he was going so fast that the strong rope securing the wood came loose and the whole load of wood went into the CREEK..i was about ready to chase the wood and load it back in, but Doug said no "you don't want that dead wet wood'....it had only just got wet and i have burnt wet wood lots wetter than that for years
in my fire place, but Doug said that wood wasn't good anymore...one of the only times i was sure a car/truck accident wasn't my boys fault was when doug ran into tony out by douG's farm and tony said it was doug's fault because he was driving too fast and not watching and i knew he was telling the truth

a very very long blog

do you have the patience to read the whole thing...bring a drink and a snack with you.....There were times when i should have turned down some of Doug's invitations to go off somewhere in his TRUCK...i loved to see the herds of deer...they are a wonderful sight, but doug wanted to go after them every night with binoculars..i didn't need to see them four nights out of the week...he would sit on his back porch and look up to horse shoe with his telescope looking for deer, elk, mountain lions and bears...he would explain how this area and no other was God's own personnal country....i explained how the earth was much darker and loomier, and richer, other places back east, but he would say nonsense...there is no better land than in sanpete...other times when i should have turned doug down for a ride were when he would see how far up the canyon he could get in his truck....well it is a work truck and he didn't care how much he trashed it...so he would see the snow bank blocking the road around the place where Daniel wants to buy a cabin and he would plow into it grinding his way through his gears plowing into the snow to see where his truck could go no more and then put it into reverse and actually expected to go back down the hill...well he always got stuck...always, no doubt....we would dig and sink deeper...he would screw his little truck facing east and then north and then south and even sometimes west but he was always still stuck....digging and then reving his rpm's to a high spinning and spinning....finally when we had shoveled all the snow all the way back to Ephraim...we could then moveback down the hill.....other times when i should have turned doug down for a ride was on a trip up to the skyline to philly hill...he had me and the boys in the back...i think tony was up in the passenger seat and in his two wheeled rig he went straight up off the road to the top avoiding the more improved winding way, but straight upwith us all falling out of the backover the just barely secured back tailgate
