This is one of my favorites you've written.
You can't quit blogging! Too many of us out here in Blogland would be disappointed.
You will have a great time in Lagoon!
xoxoxo
:)
I'm with you Putz, I like kisses too! Well, who wouldn't?
I've never been to Lagoon, please write about it when you get back.
Have a good time,
:-)
..
LOL This was funny!
Lots of love!!!!!
I'm here....
i said i am not pro choice choose chozen...i like babies. not for abortion...one thing i disagree with big o on....cleared that up to everyone's satisfaction i guess{not}the rest i pretty much let stand
i just don't like arms period...to bear them, or not....bear legs instead and get the hell out of here
i don't like the war times in the book of mormon...me personnaly,i can believe in the book of mormon and still not believe in wars in the book of mormon
i like all the people not covered by health care, i just don't think they should have to grovel to get it...it should be there for them
YOu and Tony are related Right? Wow, it sounds like it. A good list, Mr. Putz. Have fun in the dark lagoon. Huh...Where?
I was a little sad to see the addition of things you don't like...I admit to scratching my head in confusion about most of the things you listed. I have to say I disagree with that outlook.
But, I still enjoy you! I hope you don't quit blogging.
steph...you saw two sides of me....face it....i am a putz...this blog eventually did kill me
kind of love hate steph...love for the first half...hate for the second half...the world
you believe in a living prophet but you are not pro-life?
--The offical stance of the Church is that abortions are occasionally necessary (see lds.org for specifics.)
You don't like terrorists, but you don't like guns in the hands of law abiding good citizens to protect from the evils of the world?
It's only one step from rifle-carrying law-abiding citizen to terrorists. Al Queda, for instance, believes they are abiding by a higher law, a religious law, and they are citizens of their country, and they carry rifles (and other things.)
You don't believe in killing rabbits, but it's ok to kill babies?
Neither, please. I don't think you'll find anyone in either camp who enjoys killing babies.
I don't think anyone likes wars, but our prophet has said it is necessary at times..the book of mormon is full of examples.
Yes. Be careful about putting words in God's mouth, though, as relates to current events.
Wow, that was fun!
Putz,
I love the wilderness. I want to go to lagoon with you but I'd have to pay a babysitter to watch my kids :(
I'm glad you keep blogging.
How did your son become so intelligent when he was raised by someone who is SO close minded and expects to sit back and let everyone else take care of him. Slothfulness is one of the seven deadly sins, you do believe in the Bible don't you or do you only pick and choose your favorite parts of that as well. Its behavior and beliefs like yours that are what is wrong in America today.
Shell,
I don't mind debating. I do mind sweeping generalizations and mean-spirited ranting.
You obviously need to read up a little bit more if you don't see the paralell between Tony's comment and groups like Al Queda. The John Birchers, for instance, have some terrifying literature. And while you might think you're "law abiding" and "morally in the right," how do you know? You're imperfect. People in groups tend to be even less perfect and more stupid.
I think that people should have a right to bear arms but I think that restrictions need to be placed on where, when, how and whom is allowed to obtain weapons. And I don't think that's unreasonable at all.
Shell, I'm soooo glad that most Republicans aren't as Rabid as you, or Tony. The way you express yourself would have made me angry 10 years ago, but today it makes me chuckle. I guess we're chuckling at each other.
I'd like to see a citation where President Hinckley stated that God approved of the war in Iraq. I'd also like to see the full context (not for my benefit, I've already read it, but for the purpose of this dicussion) of Obama's statement on being "punished with a baby."
This has been good... I was in a touchy mood today and I got to vent!
oh, boy here we go again,,, my swan song blog and i have 24 comments already yipee
You know you love it, Putz
I've been really bad at blogging... I might not log on for a week or so.... you should NOT stop. Take a break if you need.
I'm behind in my blog reading and I come here today hoping to read about Putz's experience with extraterrestial life and look what I get: controversy!
If I'm reading correctly, you're getting fingers pointed at you for having conflicted ideals? I think I know where you're coming from because I am dark and brooding and complex and conflicted. I hope to have it all figured out by the time I'm 90.
Oh, check your email--I just sent you a reply about canines:)
i don't hate PEOPLE SO I CHANGED TO PROGRAM AND SYSTEM BUT THE POINT OF the comments was abortion and health care which i feel stongly about as you know..also i don't believe all the wars in b.o.m.were god inspired...maybe the wars were to help us understand so we wouldn't have a war and we missed the message loldad
i am not for ombama' stance on abortion...i don't believe in his wanting so many abortions...that should make you feel better about me.....right to life or right to choice...you and i are probably both right to life
and it was your right and you were right to complain about changes... the word [people ]made the post silly...i concede that most believe in righteous wars and i guess i do but a lot of the time i feel like a pacifist...so point to tony...in fact you may have won the whole shebang...you and shelly think pretty smart...like the rest of the church...i am off a little but but but i can't help myself
Putz...if you do stop blogging, I'll sure miss you!
I respect your decision about it though.
Thank you for your many visits to me and your kind and funny words. And for seeing The Dark Child as the gem that she is!
I will always think of you as my Utah friend.
Kisses~
Sweet Cheeks :)
loren the dark lagoon or is that the blue lagoon where brooke shields walks around in all in beauty...you know the one who played with michael jackson all hose early years...by the way i really was touched by his white daughters' testemony of her dad
Tony, none of the paragraph you quoted (or the verses) states that it is God's will that we go to war in Iraq (and especially in the aftermath, all the corrected intelligence we've been given) I don't see how you could maintain your position.
Wow, Tony.
You know, I'm actually a pretty likeable person. I have lots of discussions with people I disagree with, on a regular basis, and we end up being friends anyway, and in fact learn from one another. My desire is never to provoke, but instead to find common ground, in discussions like these. Honestly, I think your problem is that you can't handle having anyone disagree with you, or express an opinion different from yours, and if that's the case, then you're right... there's not much we can accomplish discussing this together.
I think you could show a little more respect... not just to me, but to your father in law and also to everyone who reads this board. Geez.
my bane has always been politics and religion...i like them both...i read joseph smith's papers and many political opinions and ENJOY IT
TONY IS MY SON WHO I AM PROUD OF HIM AND HIS OPINIONS USED TO BE MINE PRETTY MUCH, BUT I HAVE BEEN CHANGIN
OH AND BY THE WAY EVERYONE ABOUT JOSEPH SMITH...HE USED TO BLESS INTO THE CELESTIAL KINDOM Those who gave great amounts of money to the church...wow...did you know that/////??????....and was very critical OF and excomunicated SOME of those who had ideas of MONOGAMOUS MARRIAGE
I've read a lot of that stuff about J. Smith. You have to be careful where you get it from. Anything about polygamy or the mountain meadows massacre leads mostly to websites by anti-mormons.
I'd be proud of my children if they were politically active and had strong views, too, and weren't afraid to express them. But it's tough to discuss something with someone when they have no intention of listening to you, and are sure their veiws are the "righteous" ones. honestly, in what way are politics ever righteous? The political parties nowadays are, in my mind, only a step above the secret combinations from the Book of Mormon because of the way they operate, exchange and curry favors, and seem bent on setting people against each other.
i get the "stuff" from the joseph smith papers journals volume 1 1832 to 1839...and i only say it not that i am falling away from the church that many who he blessed into the celestail kindom will still have to be judged by the savior and mny cut off from the church for what i considered trivial things will also have to meet that savior in order to come back in the curch...those who had testimonies but might have been bullied out of the church
Well that's good... it actually doesn't surprise me much, there were a lot of "interesting" practices back then to say the least :) It just goes to show that the church itself is an evolving organism, constantly perfecting its doctrine and practices so they become more in-line with God's.
It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in those situations you describe... people realizing that their money actually didn't save them?
Thomas Marsh is an example of what you have described (people cut off from the church for what seems to be trivial things) but it was the man himself who allowed such a silly thing to become a problem. I know though, that Brigham Young especially was famous for sweeping excommunication. He was our cowboy/pioneer/vigilante prophet and served a specific purpose during the time he presided, but we definitely would have a hard time living with him today, I think!
I saw your comment over on Loren's blog and decided to come have a look.
I'm beginning to understand from this particular set of comments why you decided to stop blogging.
How do you feel about corporal punishment? Tony sounds like he could have used a little more, either that or had his mouth washed out with soap occasionally. Not trying to start a war; I'm just saying.
I am not LDS so I don't know Alma 48, but I do know the Lower 48. :)
WE WANT PUTZ!! WE WANT PUTZ!! WE WANT PUTZ!!
thanks for your support ..this blog experience had it's pitfalls...i am a putz...but the lower part of this country wants me {especially alabama } and that is encouraging..i know you are from georgia, but must of my fan club is alabama
in the little negative part of my last blog you get discussions on the right to bear arms, abortion, war policy, war expense, prisoner of war camps, right win conservatism, ineptness, bad economies, wilderness policies , terror activity, health care reform, joseph smith quirks, eccomunications etc etc etc
lucky 13...thirteen.....13
the last three comments are for rhymes with
Hey Putz! I need to come around here more often! Thanks for your thoughtful comments on my blog and please don't stop blogging. The world needs more smart people like you! I agree with you so much!
Yeah... actually I wouldn't mind learning how to hunt. I feel that is one ethical way to eat meat... but I definitely wouldn't enjoy it too much either, I don't think.
Hey, you should put up a new post before I leave for Ethiopia! Pleeeeaase. :)
not not goin goin to to happen happen
Don't even think about giving up - you still have lots to say!
Aw c'mon. I'm wheedling here. Since when does nosurfgirl wheedle anybody?????? And since when does Putz not write wonderful controversial informative imaginative blogs?
wheddle..i hope that is ok/???does the church ok that or is it like kissing on temple grounds{just in paper this morning}
or at the mormon miracle when we wouldn't let the nonmormon use the bathroom
OK, really late to the game....You can't quit coming by my place even if you do quit blogging.
Your opinions are yours and you have every right to them just like everyone else has the right to theirs. Opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one. I am glad you are sticking up for them.
Sorry I haven't been around, I haven't been anywhere. With Little Miss at home, it is hard to get near the computer sometimes.
You will be missed here, dear Putz!!!!

Well, Barlow, I don't have to listen to the news anymore I just stop by and read your blog... :) thanks for visiting me!
Howdy Putz, do you read your own comments? Sorry if it seems like I'm teasing you, but Candle is like that. As for my politics, I'll be here on 9/12/09:

I sincerely hope it wasn't anything I did or said that caused you to delete your more recent post and all of its comments....
If so, a thousand pardons.
after reading snowbrush, i have decided peoples opinions are stupid period...my politics and my rants will speak against me when i meet my maker so i want traces of those opinions GONE
Too bad your "not a blog" disappeard. I hope you saved it so you could put it back on later. I save mine as drafts when I pull them.
Just to say that if it weren't for your blog and ours and the interaction between the authors you would not have met all these new people.
We all like you a lot. You seemed to be the kind of person who could take a joke on himself really well and BOY, DID THEY EVER PILE IT ON!
Anyway, Mr. Putz, I do hope you continue. I for one am so glad I got to know you. If you'd allow I would like to meet you if I ever come to Utah and it was someplace near Ephraim.
..
my ideas will speak against me when i meet my maker so i want traces of tose{mine} opinions GONE
IDEAS eventually always become smelly garbage...discard and delete them all
It is true that we will have to give an account to God of every idle word we speak (Jesus said so), but knowing that fact ought to make us think (and even pray) before we speak (or write). It should not make us jump in a hole and pull the ground in after us.
It is also true that His grace is sufficient, His love has no limit, and His mercy endures forever.
Just a thought from your friend in Georgia. I agree with Jim, by the way. Hang in there, Putz, your world has become bigger than Ephraim, Utah. Even Karmalee can't change that. I am pulling for you.
You should go back to blogging. As much as your comments amuse me, I think you would amuse me more if you decided to post again.

Twice is nice.
I still think you need Twitter. Except I am not on it and doubt if I would get on just for you. I haven't so far for my kids.
Also my advice for you would be to get a new doctor. That is @&#%! for yours to do that to you! And, if you like him or her, keep your annuals or more often.
I made a doctor upset one time. He got up, swore at me, left, and shut the door on his way out. That wasn't very professional at all.
Good for you on the liquor store. I haven't either although I have taken a free-bee social or airplane drink now and then.
My uncle said it was good he didn't drink because he knew he was an alcoholic. He could have been right and that runs in families to some extent.

I HAVE JUMPED IN A HOLE AND PULLED THE GROUND IN AFTER ME
Putz, God knows your opinions, your politics, and your occasional rants even if you succeed in erasing every trace of them. You're only fooling yourself.
Remember, though, He is love, and He is merciful, in addition to being just.
Putz, so sorry to see that you are not posting. I have missed your quirky writing. I hope you are ok. I saw your comment on Rhymes' post regarding September 11. Very thought provoking.
Putz! I'm in the ground too lake boy! I can see the dirt and I continue to fight. You should too. I love your comments and especially the one about buying the tshirt that had been on the rack 15 years. I'm still laughing about it :)
Get back to blogging. I'm trying also. We need your funnies :)
I don't understand any of the rest of the comments. Been outta the loop. ((HUGS))

Hey Mr. Putz, did I ever tell you that I was a typing instructor in the Army? The quick brown fox excerise is like the scales to a piano player, got to do them now and then.
That would be a subject for a blog post but I spilled the beans over here.
See how easy it is?
